Arabella's got some interstellar-gator skin boots

YAASSSS.

I've never really been a person who would spend money on concerts, they've always seemed to be a bit of a rip off for me. The only two bands that I had decided I would ever pay for would be the Backstreet Boys and the Arctic Monkeyx, and unfortunately I missed the Backstreet Boys when they toured last year. AND KEVIN WAS THERE :( Anyway, I swore to myself that I would see Arctic Monkeys if they ever toured and somehow despite the release of their new album, I didn't think they'd tour Australia anytime soon. Obviously, I was wrong. I don't know when tickets were available, but one day I googled Arctic Monkeys tour dates out of a mix of boredom and procrastination (thank god for boredom and procrastination) and I discovered that tickets were available! Sadly, most of the tickets were sold out, but I still determined to go.

It took me a week of pestering my friends to find someone to go with me to their concert, sadly none of my friends knew who they were and I was getting more and more anxious about the tickets selling out. Finally, I found a friend who agreed to go with me after I made her listen to them and when she agreed I swear I could've heard the angels singing. I did unfortunately get seats which are near the back, but I'm just so excited do to go I don't care. :o)

Collective Haul - Asos and Dragonberry

Dragonberry is an Australian franchise that stocks, I think, mainly Australian brands. They had a nothing over $10 pop up sale, so of course I had to go, and I'm so glad I did. My mini Asos order also happened to arrive today, so I thought I'd combine the two.

But first, Dragonberry! Everything was $10 and it was a buy 5 get one free. I've listed the brands underneath.

And now for Asos
New Look hoodie, available here. Size up! I went with chest measurements (cause its a mens) and thought, 'that's about right', and now its very tight around my hip, though its fine around my chest (yay). Also it was on sale for $22, and I needed a hoodie, so this was it.

Rimmel's eyeshadow quad in Brixton Brown, and Bourjois Foundation in 53 - light beige.

Monki ring + also another chance to show off my nails (in love with the colour).

So pumped about the Dragonberry haul, most of the pieces I would have happily paid more than $10 for such nice pieces. I'm kind of addicted, its a two day sale and I'm going again tomorrow.

Nails #2 - Mashmallow pink

I've seen light pink nail polish popping up a lot on youtube, especially Essie's Fiji. I normally stay away from pink nail polish, but after seeing how nice it looked on other people, I wanted to try it. I didn't own any light pink polish, and I didn't feel like buying a new bottle of polish, so I mixed my own colour. I poured out a dollop of white nail polish and added a few drops of rose pink polish, borrowed off my mum, mixed it up, and voila - baby pink polish.

Because I had mixed the polish out in the open and I had my fan on, the polish started to dry/clump which made it hard to apply. I added the Sally Hansen Instra-dri top coat on top and it smoothed out the polish and gave it a nice glossy look. Loving this colour now that I have it on my nails, I might go out and get a shade like this.

Australis Velourlips in Tok-i-o

I was in Priceline the other day and Australis was on sale. I'd seen reviews of it online, and the velourlips just called to me, so I picked up the purple one.

Sorry about the shaky picture, I didn't realise it at the time

This product dries in seconds, its amazing. It goes from liquid to super matte, so matte that when I took a sip of water, there was barely a stain on the cup. Because it is so matte, it can be quite drying, so I would definitely wear a lip balm underneath.

I love this colour, it makes me feel like I'm a Disney evil queen and oh so badasss. They retail for about $9.95, I got them for $6.95.

February Bellabox 2014

This month in 'Useless stuff that I don't need - red carpet edition'

We have the following products as described by the lovely info card.

Here are the products:

And here are some lipstick closeups - Om SHE Aromatherapy Lipstick in Choice

I was really disappointed in this lipstick, the fomula is great, very moisturising and super creamy but the colour (urg) its very brown with very little red in it. It looks a lot more brown in real life than it does in the photo. It just reminds me of the 90's brown lipstick trend, or lipsticks my grandma used to own. Really not my colour or most people's colour really, a bit disappointed at Bellabox for sending me a colour that has such a small niche.

Glittery nude nails

Ulta 3 nail polish in Manicure Pink as the base (don't get this, it chips like craaazzaaay and doesn't seem to dry properly), Australis glitter topcoat in Fairy Bread (love this) around the edges, added loads of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri topcoat because the Ulta 3 nail polish shade is the worst nail polish I've ever tried (Ulta 3 is generally alright though) and added a Sally Hansen glitter top coat in Disco Ball on my middle and ring finger to add a bit more sparkle.

Summer university outfits

University starts soon for me (insert sarcastic cheering), so I thought I'd compile some outfits I'll probably wear. I always dress quite casually for uni so these are my dressed down looks. I don't wear makeup on a regular basis, I just fill in my brows and apply a lippie. Here, I'm using the Rimmel's eyebrow pencil in black and the Bourjois colour boost lip crayon in orange punch. Oh, and I cut my hair.

Outfit 1 - The midi skirt

This is my go to look when I wear a midi skirt: singlet, belt and skirt. The type of single/belt/skirt varies depending mainly on what skirt I'm wearing. Ballet flats are just so easy to pop on, I really needed new black flats (these are actually a dark navy) as my old ones are dying, so I got these from Novo the other day for $20. I don't normally shop at Novo, but my friend wanted to go in there to look for sandals so I checked the sale section while we were there.

Outfit 2 - Classic t-shirt & shorts combo

I've had this crop tee for about 4 years now, its probably my most worn tee ever. The cut and the colour is so flattering and there is a small exposed back detail that's not shown here. I've matched it with countless shorts over the years, currently been loving these shorts from Jayjays. For comfort, I put on some daisy print sneakers from Rivers.

Outfit 3 - The dress

A dress is the easiest thing to pull on when you're in a rush. I got this dress a few years back which I rediscovered recently and I added the red flats to intensify the look.

Outfit 4 - Slightly dressier top and shorts combo

I got these cool shorts from Valleygirl which I wish were in a thicker material (would've loved white leather/leather look material). I thought why not go all white and added the lace top and white shoes.

Outfit 5 - The Printed Skirt
A printed skirt does most of the work for you when styling an outfit and can be matched with the most basic of tops. Chuck on a pair of shoes - ballet flats/sandals/anything - and you're set.

Today was such a hot day, I was sweating so much the whole time doing this blog post and the clothes were sticking to me as I was changing. It was too hot to even have my hair down, the shots where I did have my hair down were hell. Anyway, I hope this gave some inspiration for what you could wear for uni/school. Until next time :o)
